Volunteer Fire Brigades from Pico Truncado and Koluel Kayke receive equipment from PAE
The donation is part of a plan developed by the Company to cooperate with non-governmental volunteer organizations from the different municipalities in Golfo San Jorge

Pan American Energy (PAE) delivered the firefighting equipment to the Sixth Unit of the Fire Brigade in Pico Truncado and to Unit 23 of the Fire Brigade in Koluel Kayke. Each of the brigades received two sets of firefighter gear including helmet, face mask, gloves, boots, pants, jacket and a self-contained breathing apparatus.

During the ceremony, Verónica Olivera, a high ranking officer from the Police Force, who is responsible for Koluel Kayke’s fire department, thanked PAE for their donation and remarked, “This means a lot to us; we are a new unit and did not have this type of gear. The firefighters will now be better protected. The self-contained breathing apparatus is essential for our job, for instance, but we couldn’t afford one”.

The Head of the Sixth Unit from Pico Truncado, Franco Guzmán, noted “the equipment delivered by PAE will be used by the on-call unit, thus ensuring we are protecting the firefighter’s life so that they can provide a better service to the community.”

Silvia Barragán, from PAE’s Institutional Relations, explained that this donation “is part of a plan developed by the Company to cooperate with non-governmental volunteer organizations from the different municipalities in Golfo San Jorge. We also delivered firefighting equipment to the fire departments in Comodoro Rivadavia, Rada Tilly and Caleta Olivia. We always work on the basis of the results of a needs assessment and according to the number of firefighters in each unit. In this way, any help we provide becomes more effective.”

Barragán added, “We are planning to continue this process and to cooperate in the training of volunteers, strengthening their skills through different training sessions.PAE believes it is very important to provide support to the institutions that take care and protect our communities.”

With these activities, PAE continues to create and strengthen ties with different local institutions, and works together with them to help improve each of the cities where it operates.
