Pan American Energy launches the 4th Edition of the Mayma Awards in Patagonia
For the 4th consecutive year, PAE’s SMEs Program promotes an award to the entrepreneurial spirit in the provinces of Chubut and Neuquen.

Within the framework of its SMEs Program and as part of the continuous support to initiatives promoting entrepreneurial projects in Golfo San Jorge, Pan American Energy’s (PAE) SMEs Program sponsored the 4th edition of the National Mayma Awards, in Patagonia. The initiative is organized by Civil Association Contribuir al Desarrollo Local (Contribute to Local Development), which seeks to train and maximize the potential of those entrepreneurs who are starting their business or who already have an established, small or medium-sized business.
The 4th edition of the awards has already been launched in Comodoro Rivadavia, Rada Tilly and Sarmiento, and next week it will be presented in Trelew and Puerto Madryn, two cities that will be part of the project for the very first time.

The Chubut chapter is supported by Comodoro Conocimiento Self-Governing Entity, the Production Department from Sarmiento, the Municipality of Rada Tilly, Trelew’s Production and Social Development Agency and the Productive Development Agency from Puerto Madryn. The National University from Patagonia San Juan Bosco (UNPSJB) is also one of the stakeholders in this initiative.

The proposal seeks to benefit those entrepreneurs who wish to become part of the new economies, taking care of people and the environment and prioritizing them over economic results, while generating employment and inclusion and promoting the care and preservation of our ecosystems.

During the presentation in Comodoro, the representative from Fundación Contribuir for Norberto Fraile, explained that “this month we are starting to develop the PATAGONIA chapter with face-to-face, weekly and free-of-charge workshops in Neuquén, Comodoro Rivadavia, Trelew, Puerto Madryn and Sarmiento, which will result in 5 entrepreneurial projects that will compete in the Final Round of the Awards.“
The Head of PAE’s SMEs Program, Mario Perón, stated “this is a great opportunity for all those entrepreneurs who wish to make their projects come true; the idea is to create synergies and thus achieve better results.”
Training Workshops

For this new edition of the Mayma Awards, ten (10) free-of-charge training and consulting workshops will be organized between August and October.  Those entrepreneurs who are interested will receive training in topics such as: What is a business plan and why is it important? What are the components of a business plan? How can I identify my target market and then develop a commercial strategy? What are the plan’s competitive advantage and the value proposition? Training will also be delivered on other related topics, namely, the entrepreneurial team and the division of roles; internal organization; management of suppliers, costs, prices and profitability; the financial plan and SWOT analysis.
Those interested in participating will be able to enroll up to and including July 28th by sending an email to

The Regional Final Round for Golfo San Jorge will be held on October 15th, whereas the 2016 National Final Round will be held on November 8th in Buenos Aires.

The winners of the National Mayma Awards will receive, among other prizes, a scholarship for VIVA 2017, the Annual Workshop for Social Entrepreneurs leaders in Latin America.

Thus, PAE´s SMEs Program continues strengthening and fostering the development of regional projects and companies, while helping to build a successful business future.
